Mission: To Boldly Go
Location: Captain's Ready Room

Henry entered the room behind her and stood by the view port which which held an image of the freighter. He didn't look at her when he spoke.

"I thought I'd been doing alright with the idea of having to send her into danger but the idea of Jem Hadar being over there...." he paused, "I have no idea what we're in the middle of. I know that's been true more than a few times but this time seems more real. Four different weapons signatures on the outside that now this on the inside. What would you advise?"

Millie quietly crossed the ready room, coming to stand at the view port next to him. "There is too much unknown at this point...especially with so much of the freighter's crew missing." She paused for a moment. "I cannot speak as someone who has family, Captain...but I think that if I had family aboard that freighter, I would want to know what happened to them."

"This could have major implications for the entire quadrant. If the Dominion is reforming for another go around, I'm not sure we're ready for a fight of that magnitude again, especially with the Romulans still putting themselves together."

"All the more reason to find out as much information as we can." Millie placed a gentle hand on Henry's arm. "She is a very strong woman, you know..."

"Oh I know, but sometimes it doesn't help much when I'm here and she's over there."

The Counselor nodded. "Then, perhaps it is best to remember, in this moment, that she is your First Officer, and she was chosen for this role because she was a capable officer, da?"

He nodded. "Nobody else I'd rather be at my side."

Millie smiled. "And I have known few officers more capable of handling this kind of away mission as your wife."

He exhaled, glancing out at the freighter again. "Ever notice how we're always in the middle of the scrum?"

"You, and every colony and station they've assigned me to." Millie paused, chuckling. "Perhaps I am the bad luck charm."

He glanced at her, as if judging her statement before shaking his head. "Nah, it started before you ever heard of this place." He motioned to the door. "Well, we better get back to work."

With a grin and a nod, she followed the Captain back onto the Bridge.
