The Guest House

Location: Guest house at the ranch
Timeline: Before the party

Caressa entered the guest house expecting it to be empty, Henry was waiting at the Kitchen table with a bottle of wine. The kids hit him hard and were dancing all around asking a million questions.

Caressa giggled. " They are your kids!"

Henry answered each as best he could, trying to keep up with the blitz. When he finally rode out the wave and they took a breath he looked up at Caressa. "I'm glad that you all were able to stay."

"You know this is not a easy thing for me. Its been very difficult. I did it for them" picking up the wine and pouring a glass. " I think I am going to need this." She sat at the table.

He nodded. "All the same I'm glad you're all here." He watched the kids as they explored the house running here and there. "They grow up too fast."

"Tell me about it. Gavin's feet are getting huge. So how do you want to spend time with them. Do you want them for a period of time? Do you just want to visit? I have toyed with letting them come on ship, but I think they will be safer with Uncle Mikos." twirling the wine glass in her hand.

"Long term they're absolutely welcome on the ship. Short term they can be here as long as they want, even if you decide not to bring them aboard. Your uncle can bring them here anytime. I figure I'll introduce them to fishing and let them experience the majesty of the plains." He spoke of their surroundings with reverence.

"I really think off ship will be better, for school and everything. I will let my Uncle know, he might enjoy the ambiance of the plains too. We will stay here through shore leave. I want them to have as much of you as you can stomach. Your gonna have your hands full with five. "

He grinned as he stood. "I usually have a few hundred to manage so five will be just fine. It's good that they all get together and make memories."

"I never thought about it like that. Thanks for letting us stay I am sure they will enjoy it" Caressa turned and the kids bounced out in swimwear. "Really you guys, you just cant wait"

Gavin and Galena plopped themselves in Henry's lap. " Take us swimming!"

"Do you know how to swim? I learned when my daddy just threw me into a big pond out on the ranch. I learned fast though."

Caressa's eyes got huge. " Seriously? That's a bit drastic. They do know how to swim however."

"Then you two are going to love the pool next to the big house. We'll replicate some water toys and floats and all that and then for dinner you're gonna have the best food you've ever had."

She shook her head. " Well off with the three of you then, I am going to go change for the BBQ"

"Come on you two." He motioned to the door, giving Caressa a nod as he led them out.
