Little Late Dinner

Posted on Sat Jan 12th, 2019 @ 10:43am by Commander Brielle Jayde

It had felt like an overly long shift, but Brielle got back to her quarters to a toddler running towards her, one who should have been in bed. She caught Razot's eye and he shrugged with a smirk. "Ossan, you should be in bed buddy."

"Stay up and see you!" He squealed. Looking around, she noticed Aysel not there, and Razot nodded back towards the kids' room. Nodding, she scooped up Ossan and sat down on the couch. "I told daddy I'd be late and that you should have been in bed."

Ossan frowned and hopped up off her lap, going over to the kitchen table and, very carefully, brought her back a plate of fettuccini alfredo. "He's been waiting to do that. Made sure the food stayed warm for you but the plate he could carry," Razot stated, grabbing the fork he'd put on the coffee table, handing it to her.

"Noodles and stuff," Ossan said as he got himself up onto the couch, laying against Razot with a yawn. She grinned. "Thank you, guys," she said, digging in. Ossan quickly fell asleep, and she smiled at him. "I wish I could fall asleep that quickly. Did they behave today?"

Razot nodded. "They did. They are obviously not fans of the ship getting hit by things. Do I want to know what was going on? I almost reported to engineering on my day off." She shook her head, "You really don't, especially considering I ended up with a dislocation." He frowned, worry showing on his face, but she put up a hand. "I'm fine. Caressa fixed me up."

"Still, hun. This is why I hate you being up there sometimes." Brie moved over and kissed his cheek, careful to not wake up Ossan. "We both know it's part of the job. Now go on, you've got your shift starting soon. And you'll likely have some work to do. I'll get him to bed when I'm done with this amazing dinner you two made me."

He sighed and got up, making sure to put a pillow under Ossan's head before giving her one last kiss, heading off to engineering. She watched him as he left, then turned her eyes to Ossan. The three of them were what were most important to her, so she understood Razot's worry when she mentioned the dislocation. She would do the same if he had said something like that.

Curling her legs up underneath her, she was going to let Ossan sleep on the couch for a while. Once Aysel woke up to be fed, she'd get them both in bed and then herself as well.
