Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Guest house on the Ranch
Timeline: Day after the shindig

Caressa walked around the kitchen of the large farmhouse, her brain in a bit of a fog. "Damn Tequila." The kids were off with Henry for the next couple of days, so the house was hers. She went to the replicator. "Orange Juice" The orange beverage appeared on the dispenser tray. She picked it up and started to drink. "That tastes better" She had donned a sage green bikini, lounging at pool side sounded like a relaxing thing to do. Her mind kept wandering to the night before. She found her thoughts seeking out Vox. She could not believe that Stacey left. She shook her head. She needed to eat, but could not decide what she wanted. She sat at the breakfast bar, sipping her juice.

Vox walked out of the main guest house door and over to the pool wearing sunglasses, blue board shorts and flip-flops. He tossed a towel over a lounge chair and took a seat, swiveling his legs onto the chair and kicking his flip-flops off. It was a very sunny day, just perfect for the pool. And it was a very large pool. The blue water waved faintly in a very inviting way. He wondered if he would see Caressa again. They had such a pleasant evening the night before, despite too much to drink.

She grabbed some fruit from the replicator to take pool side. Bananas and strawberries in a basket. Grabbing the over sized beach towel and donning sun glasses she headed out the door of the guest house to the pool. She made her way to the gate and almost dropped the fruit basket while trying to open the latch. "That was close " she muttered to herself. She threw the towel over her shoulder as she walked, grabbing a strawberry and putting to her lips. Then she noticed him. Should she take the lounge next to him, was last night just the tequila? In her mind she just said go for it you have nothing to loose. She walked to the lounge next to him, put the basket on the table, and biting through the berry. Finishing it, " Fancy meeting you here" She smiled with the half a berry in her fingers and she sat, kicking off her flip flops and laying back in the lounge, finishing off the last of the berry and licking her lips.

By this point Vox had closed his eyes as he basked in the heat of midday. He recognized the voice instantly and kept his body still on the lounge chair except for the creeping smirk on his lips. He spoke up while still keeping his eyes closed, "Fancy yourself, doctor." He interlaced his fingers over his chest and wiggled his foot. "Decided to join me in the hard work of relaxing by the pool?"

"Yes, its very hard work, I can see you're working up a sweat," she said as she lifted her sunglasses and looking under them at him. Shaking her head, he is great eye candy.

He reached down and grasped the tall, chilled cup of an exotic drink he forgot the name of and couldn't recall all the different alcohols in it. He took a sip before licking his lips as he craned his head over to look at her. The swimsuit she wore was very telling, which he didn't mind. "It's very strenuous work. The higher the rank, the more work one does, as you well know."

"Well that of course depends upon who it is. I know I work much harder that you!" She took another strawberry and took a bite, the juice trickling down the edge of her lip to her chin. She took her finger and caught it, then sucked the juice off her finger. She flipped her sunglasses down then laid back on the lounge, letting the sun warm her skin.

He eyed her movements behind his reflective shades, noting the juice trickle down her chin briefly as errant thoughts wandered into his mind. He broke the tension by sipping his drink again. "Well, after the selfless service I've already provided the Federation, I do think that desk duty suits me quite well, doctor." He turned back to look at the lazy pool water.

"I think everything suits you well!" she boldly stated then wondered why it even came out of her mouth. She took off the sun glasses and placed them by the bowl of fruit on the table. Taking a drink of orange juice she rose up from the chase lounge and headed to the diving board. "It's getting a bit hot out here." It had been years since she was at a pool. She stepped upon the diving board the pebbly texture sticking to the bottoms of her feet. She walked to the board then placed her heels at the back of the board. One, two, three steps, one hop and then she gracefully dived into the pool. The water tingled her skin as she hit the water. She arched her back to come back up to the top of the surface. Her head bobbing in the water she looked over to Vox. He wasn't in the chase lounge.

As she had been preoccupied with her diving form she probably hadn't noticed that he slipped into the water after moving around the pool behind her. He felt relief from the heat as he promptly dipped into the water, letting it go over his head before rising again. By this time she had finished with surfacing as well and he leaned against the edge of the pool. "Nice form. You must have taken classes growing up."

Just surfacing, she heard the voice to her left. She just about choked when she saw Vox in the water. She wondered how he got there so fast. " I was on my high school swim team," she smiled. He looked just as good in board shorts as he did in casual clothes. She swam over to him. Her thoughs drifted to the night before, and her body reacted just as it did the night before. "How about you? Any sports teams?" Trying hard to get her mind in the proper place.

"I was shortstop for the Academy baseball team," he said as he moved close to her, his mind drifting to that same night. The air seemed to electrify around them as he glanced at the water beads on her neck. Inching closer let him hear her soft breathing as he brought his eyes back to hers. "Nothing like a pool to temper the heat..."

"Do you really think that anything will temper the heat between us?" she was blatantly honest, although grinning from ear to ear. She watched the water lap at his chest. She was treading water, and treading on uncommon ground. "Although the water does feel good."

"I'm not so sure the water will save us in the long run, doctor." He backed up against one wall of the pool and stared long at her. He couldn't help but enjoy the innuendo game being played out. It was refreshing.

Feeling his gaze she went under the water and glided to him and came up right in front of him face to face. "So tell me Commander, do you want to be saved?" Placing her hands on his shoulders, for stability but also because she could not keep her hands to herself anymore.

He closed his eyes slowly as his arms wrapped around her back as he tried not to grasp her too desperately, leaning in to taste her lips. "Not in the slightest."
