Mission: The Voyage Home
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 3 Days from Earth

Henry got the message from Caressa as he was reviewing his notes for his upcoming debriefing. He'd seen enough PADDs for the day so he stood, exiting the Ready Room and heading down to Sickbay where he knew she was still on duty.

Upon entering the medical bay, he nodded to a few of the staff and made his way to the CMO office, ringing the chime.

"Come" Puzzled she looked up to see who was coming in, nothing was scheduled on her calendar. "Henry Crow as I live and breathe. I take it you received my message?" Placing the PADD she had in her hand on the ever growing stack on the right edge of her desk. She was really hoping he would just take the clue and just schedule some time on her calendar. Evidently he did not get the fact she really didn't want to see him. " Please sit down" directing him to the chair at the front of her desk.

He entered, taking the seat. "I'm not hard to find, you didn't need to send an automated message about the kids."

"It was just the best way to let you know." Moving the conversation along and ignoring the obvious. "The twins would like to see you when you get settled after we dock. I promised I would let you know"

"I was thinking of putting on a big welcome home party for the entire crew. I'd love to have Gavin and Galena there. Maybe you all could stay a few days and they could play with all the other kids."

"Where is this party going to take place? I am sure the kids would love it." fidgeting just trying to get through it.

"The ranch. Plenty of space for everyone to sit down and enjoy the best food courtesy of the best chef in the quadrant."

"The kids will like it. Is the guest house available? Uncle Mikos is will be here and will need a place to stay." She stated matter of fact tone.

"It is, and we'll have it all fixed up and ready to go." He stood. "Well I'll let you get back to your work."

"Thanks appreciate it. You might want to give the kids a call. I will send you the comm link." really wishing he wouldn't leave, but knew he was off limits.

"I'll do that." He turned and left feeling the tension drop the instant he was out of the room. He couldn't blame her for the situation, none of it was her doing but she'd caught a good deal of the brunt of it. He nodded to the staff again as he exited for the bridge.

What a relief that was over and it wasn't horrid. She could be in the same room with him and not loose it and not be angry either. Her mind was changing gears and it was most likely a good thing. Her thoughts drifted to the children. She always said she would not bring them aboard, but maybe that is what she needed to do. Henry would be close, they needed time with him and it certainly would not hurt them to be with brothers and sisters. She would see how being at the ranch would be first. Telling Uncle Mikos would be an adventure in itself. Crew interaction with them would be important too. She needed to check with Henry also.::she sighed:: He needed to have input too. She sent Henry the comm link, also asking his opinion on having then on board. He was the Captain and it was his call as it was for all families on the Merc. Workaholic at heart, she started back working on the Padds so she could get off this ship when the time came.
