Curiosity and the Cat

Mission: Magic Mirror
Location: Millie's Quarters

Patricia exited the lift and headed towards Millie’s quarters. Well, technically they were shared quarters now. With her usual lack of manners, she tapped on the door panel and input in a code before walking in. “Helllloooooo?” There was silence. “Must have had a late appointment.”

She walked over and plopped down on the couch. She’d been dying to show Millie the specs of a new training module she’d been developing.

As she drummed her fingers on the arm rest, she thought she’d just head out and get ahold of her later. As she stood, the antique mirror in the corner began the shine until the glass was just a bright light. Patricia ducked behind the couch as a figure emerged from the glass, quickly followed by another.

When the glass dimmed the figured came into view.

“Are all of the preparations complete?” Evelyn looked over her shoulder at the Klingon

“Yes, Ma’am. Our people are in position as are the other gateways,” answered Lieutenant K’Mar.

“Excellent. My estimates are we’ve replaced almost half the ship. Now remember, we’re not looking to scare her. I’ll have to ease her into…..” Evelyn stopped, looking over at the couch. The pillows were disturbed. “You can come out now.”

Patricia let loose a silent stream of profanity before slowly rising. “This looks like a bad time.”

“You have no idea.”

“Would you believe me if I said I won’t tell?”

Evelyn smirked and shook her head.

“I thought not.” Patricia leapt up onto the back of the couch, running along the edge and jumping off with a kick to the Klingon’s chest knocking him back into the wall. Patricia got to her feet when she felt a sharp pain in her neck.
Evelyn withdrew the needle, and the world began to swirl. Patricia dropped to her knees before slumping to the floor.

“Take her away.”

The Klingon picked Patricia up into his arms as the mirror began to glow again. “And what will you do?”

“It’s time to give them a little distraction. It’ll be our time soon.”

He nodded and stepped through the mirror. When the light went out Evelyn tapped her com.

“Andres….lights out.”
