Grab n Go

Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Various quarters

Chance left his parents' quarters after dropping Kieran off for a few days. He hoped, when he returned for the boy, it would be with Trisha by his side. This wasn't going to be easy. If he were honest, odds were slim to none for him to help if something had happened to her. She was the more experienced one.

Which meant him taking Evelyn, who was even more inexperienced, with him was probably a mistake. But she had insisted she wanted to be a part of the search. So he stood outside her quarters, waiting for her to answer the chime.

The door opened and she clearly didn't expect him. "Uh, hi. Is this good news or bad news?"

"It's time to go," he said quickly. "I was able to get a small security team to go find them. We have 10 minutes, so pack only what you need."

She reached to the right and picked up a duffle. "I like to plan ahead. Lead the way."

He nodded, surprised, and at the same time, not. Once prompted he turned for the Turbolift with her in tow. "I don't know exactly how this is going to go," he reported as they stepped inside the small enclosure. "It's not my usual forte. In fact, this is usually what Trisha would be doing. So, I just...hope we do this right."

She followed him and when they arrived in the shuttle bay she could see the security force was ready to go. Entering the shuttle she stowed her bag and found a seat in the back. "If my calculations are correct our ETA is about seven hours."

Chance nodded as he sat down next to the pilot. He handed the woman their course before sitting down and inputting the information into the computer. "I wish I could tell you what we're heading into," he said to his makeshift crew. "But the info I have is limited due to the nature of Banks' mission. We'll all do the best we can, and I appreciate you all being here." He turned back to the console, giving the pilot a nod to depart when she was ready. He didn't consider himself good with public speeches, so he hoped his short statement was sufficient.
