House Cleaning

Posted on Tue Apr 7th, 2020 @ 10:00am by Captain Henry Crow & Commander Edra Crow & Commander Brielle Jayde

Mission: To The Rescue
Location: Cargo Bay 1

Henry shook his head. "No, stack them in the corner, not in the middle of the bay." He wondered if common sense was still a pre-requisite at the Academy. Turning to his wife his expression said it all. They'd been at it for about 2 hours with a bevy of able bodies but the able minds had seemingly been left in their quarters.

He hadn't heard anything from Medical or Intel yet but that was to be expected. Hopefully Edra and Brie were having more luck on their end of the room.

Pulling her hair up out of her face and finally tying it behind her head, Brielle let out a heavy sigh. "Smaller boxes on the top, can't be that hard..." She looked over at Henry, who looked as frustrated as she was and gave a small shrug.

Edra helped part of her team move one of their last containers to the side, under the catwalk that clung to the outer edge of the large area. When it was where she wanted it, she checked on the other half of the team to find they were almost done with their last stack of cargo boxes. When that stack was in place, she nodded. "Good job, folks. Let's clean up the straps holding everything in place, then help out where needed." She got nods and noises of assent as only a needed a few followed her instructions while the others dispersed. She turned and went to join Henry. "Can I help?"

He was going to ask how she motivated her people but after so long he knew the answer. She was simply that, a motivator. "Any help is appreciated."

"Here too, or maybe some common sense," Brielle stated as she looked at the ones on her team, who were rearranging the boxes that had been stacked in odd ways.

"Remind me again why I ever accepted a job that forced me to leave my office down in the brig?"

Edra lifted a brow, "Originally? Because I got transported to another reality. Barring that, you would have stagnated, and you don't do that very well. Now. Where do you want me working?"

He motioned to the empty containers. "If these could end up looking like your side of the room it would be great."

"Yes, Sir," she said with a grin, before getting into the thick of things with the folks arranging the cargo. Some of her group joined her as well, and some joined in helping Brie's group.

Once Edra took charge the issues were handled in no time flat. When the flurry of activity was over he joined her and Brie in the center of the cleared out bay.

"We're a day away from reaching Starbase 129. I expect we're going to get our briefings from the teams by then. Hopefully they have some answers for us."

Brielle listened in for a bit. "One can only hope. But, when have things ever been that simple for us?"

He couldn't argue that one. Giving the room one final sweep he gave a nod of approval. "Thank you both for making this easy."

"We do our best," Brie sighed as she pushed a few loose strands of hair out of her face.

Edra turned to Henry. "I'm going to meet with Caressa and her team when we're done here," she reported. "Without taking her authority away, I'd like to assist with Medical on this, since I have the experience. I'll update you when we're through."

He nodded. "Sounds good. I'll be on the bridge." The group went their separate ways.
